Church for Atheists
It is hard running a church for atheists. That demographic is by definition not really interested in church, and churchy folks think they have already figured out everything I might have to say, especially the more I try to communicate with those with whom they do not agree.
I realized tonight that I subconsciously run a church for atheists. I care more about what they think than what Christians think. Ultimately, I care more about what God thinks, but that just puts me further at odds with those I care care deeply about.
It is not easy.
If you believe in God, pray for me. If you do not, believe this: I care about you deeply. The God I live for cares about you more.
Let us break down the walls. Let us find a common ground. The discussion is worth having, but it takes both parties to have it. It is easier to love than to truly respect, but know that not only do I love you, I truly respect you.
