Sarcasm in the Bible
Susan Isaacs warns us of the dangers of sarcasm.
“Sarcasm is fallen humor.” … the teacher insisted. Sarcasm had a ‘bitter root,’ and its flower was despair.
“Well there goes my day,” I replied. Sarcastically.
Way to go, Susan. You just ruined it for the rest of us. We thought our sarcasm contributed to our outlaw image. It turns out that the Bible is full of it. (How is that for sarcasm and a play on words?)
Even God himself makes use of the “secular” snark.
