Does the Bible Say Jesus Was Crucified?
Swedish scholar, Gunnar Samuelsson, claims that, though Christ was crucified, the evidence for it is not textually present in the gospels.
Does it matter?
He claims tradition tells us of the crucifixion and not the gospel texts.
“We fight against each other,” he reflects, but “the theological stances that keep churches apart are founded on things that we find between the lines.”
Certainly something to consider even outside of this strange context.
